Ahmedabad to host 2036 Olympic games?

 Cricket-crazy India has been positively discussing the Olympics for the last 8-12 years. India's new generation is also turning to sports other than cricket and building support over social media. Due to India's improving performance in the last 3-4 Olympic editions, Indians are now hoping that one day India will be in the top 10 in the Olympic medal tally like the USA, China, Japan. Most of the Indians have been celebrating even one Olympic medal because they know that this is how it begins! But there are also pessimists who try to weaken India's spirit by showing a list of medals won by the US and China. No one is saying right now that we have become Olympic champions, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't celebrate! In fact, it will be more fun to celebrate right now because this is new. As time goes on, winning the Olympic Games will become the norm. So, celebrate, and let others celebrate! Every win counts.

But today we want to talk about India's dream of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games! Is it possible for India to host the world's biggest sporting event? The current government of India thinks it is possible and that is why they have started efforts to become the host for the 2036 Olympic games.
One of the world's biggest management firms PWC was roped in by AUDA (Ahmedabad Urban development authority) to research, analyze and propose strategies for Ahmedabad's 2036 Olympic games campaign.  

Updates till now :
- There are 22 potential venues in Ahmedabad to host a variety of games and the nearby state capital Gandhinagar, including Shivrajpur Beach (Porbandar) and Polo Forest (Himmat Nagar) for games of certain types. 
- Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad can host the opening and closing ceremony of Olympics games 2036 if Ahmedabad/India is given the rights to host the 2036 Olympic games.
- Goa and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands can be additional locations to host some of the games.

- The Sardar Patel Sports Enclave is being built in Ahmedabad by the Gujarat government and AUDA to host the games.
- An international level sports complex is also being built in the Naranpura area of Ahmedabad to facilitate the Olympic games 2036.

The opponents of India within India are raising eyebrows sitting the cost to be incurred to build these world-class facilities to be able to host the Olympic games. They are also siting the commonwealth games fiasco to oppose the Idea of India hosting the world's largest sports event. But those who want to see only negatives or want to rundown and ideas would do it without much logic! They forget the tangible and intangible benefits of hosting Olympic games. The biggest benefit is the push to Indian tourism! Imagine thousands of people visiting India and visiting the places in and around Ahmedabad city. Not only that, Anyone visiting India would not stop at visiting one city or state only. They would surely be interested in visiting cities and states like Udaipur, Munnar, Jodhpur, Goa, etc. Imagine the kind of business everyone related to tourism would be making during the Olympic games and years after that thanks to the strong international branding of the country thanks to the Olympic games! There are people who would say that the glass if half empty. There are people who would say that the glass is half full and let's fill it to make it full! Let us be in the later segment and think positively about Ahmedabad's bid to host the Olympic games 2036!
