• Overall, difficulty level is higher than that of CAT 2006.

• Quant is much tougher than CAT06 QA. Cut-off is expected to be lower than that for CAT 2006.

• Logic & DI section is calculation-intensive. Cut-off is expected to be lower than that for CAT 2006.

• Verbal reasoning questions (like FIJ) not there. Verbal is at the same difficulty level as that of CAT 2006

• DS has come back in a big way – in both QA and Logic & DI sections

• Grammar and Paragraph-forming questions have made a come-back.

Cut-offs – First impressions

QA – Around 20
Logic & DI – Around 28
Verbal – Around 20
Overall – Around 90

Indian Competitive Entrance Exams - Golmaal hai

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) cancelled the common proficiency test (CPT) due to a paper leak at some examination centres. However exam was continued in Ahmedabad that day. its later they declared that they will re conduct the CA entrance exam.

Some angry students from Ahmedabad did a protest outside the ICAI branch office in ahmedabad with Board .... ‘What’s our mistake?’

I believe that Their Biggest mistake is that they are Indian Students.

CPT paper Leak might be shock to CA aspirants. But not a shocking news to me. Same has happened with MBA aspirants also when CAT ( an MBA entrance exam conducted by IIM ) leaked in 2003. Same happened in national level Medical entrance exam.

IIM is seen as one of the best business school in India & Asia. more than 1,50,000 student appear for CAT.& Last year's CAT Fiasco made it sure that Indian Entrance Exams Suck. & the evaluation method they carried out was worst ever thing they can do for MBA admissions. Yours truly is also a victim of this fiasco & Indian Education System.

Protest karo ya Petition Sign karo kuchh Honewala nahi hai. Golmaal hai bhai Sab Golmaal hai. You don't have option , just go & prepare for next entrance exam. All the Best !

Indian MBA and Aicte Encounter

"The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) — the body that regulates technical education in India — has decided to approach state governments and ask them to close unapproved institutions, including several premier B-schools and technical training institutes, operating in their regions." - Business Standard Report

The tussle between Indian business Schools & AICTE has started once again. In the past , You might have read similar kind of report of removal of AICTE approval of various Indian business schools . But I was surprised to find Some top business schools in AICTE hit list.

I secured seat in ICFAI Business School Chennai & Pune through IBSAT for the batch 2006-2008. I did not join for some reaons. Isuue of AICTE approval was one of them. But I m sure that on any given day Not a single Indian MBA aspirant will care for AICTE approval for business schools like ISB Hyderabad , Great Lakes. Even I would have taken admission if I converted any of IBS Mumbai , IBS Hyderabad or IBS Gurgaon Campus.
